California's Proposition 63
-
In
early November 2004, California
voters passed Proposition 63, the
Mental Health Services Act, (MHSA). Through the provisions of the MHSA,
a community mental health system that adequately meets the
needs of children, adults, and older adults with serious mental illness is
being defined. HASPA is a presence in this groundbreaking
legislation and will continue to provide information regarding the
process as it is available. HASPA is also watching as other states
investigate redefining how people who experience mentally illness are
regarded.
