HASPA Privacy Policy The Homeless Advocates and Service Providers Association, Inc. (HASPA) values the relationship we share with our members. We protect that relationship by respecting your privacy and the information you share with us. About Our Information-Gathering Practices We never give, sell or rent our mailing lists We appreciate your trust in us. Your name will not be shared with others outside of HASPA and our authorized agents. Exceptions to this policy include your approval or request to share your information, legal processes, or when disclosure is necessary to protect you or our rights. This includes, but is not limited to, mailing addresses, telephone or fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. From time to time, we may become aware of information or services that may be of interest to you (such as advocacy or providers groups in your area). In those circumstances, we will mail the information to you. We do NOT give, sell, or rent mailing labels to anyone. Requests for information sent through our web site are mailed from the HASPA office. We may collect Internet Protocol (IP) addresses from site visitors. An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. In the future, HASPA may use IP addresses to help diagnose problems with our server, administer our site, analyze trends, track user movement, gather broad demographic information for aggregate use in order to improve the site, and deliver customized, personalized content. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. Our web site may use cookies to enhance your experience while using our site. Registered users of our web site are able to opt-out of these mailings at the time they register, and can change that choice at any time in the future. Donations, membership payments and other information transmitted through our website are secure. In the future, HASPA will be able to accept donations, membership payments and other personal information through its web site. HASPA will use a secure encryption coding system that lets your browser automatically encrypt, or scramble, data before you send it to us. We will also protect account information by placing it on a secure portion of our site that is only accessible by trusted staff. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While HASPA strives to protect your information, we cannot ensure or warrant the security of such information. we may include "Tell-A-Colleague" options in messages you receive from us. If a user elects to use our referral service for informing colleagues and interested parties, HASPA will send those parties a one-time e-mail inviting them to visit the site. We will store the contact information only for the sole purpose of sending this one-time e-mail invitation. Do not send personal information via e-mail. E-mail, by its very nature, is not secure. Please do not send us any personal information in your e-mail that you would be uncomfortable sharing with others. Additions or Deletions to HASPA's "Remember Me" page. Our Remember Me section will only include names provided to us by donors. Please email HASPA at admin@haspa.org with any changes in information or if you wish to remove a name. Your request will be immediately processed. About the links and resources within our site. We may link other sites on the Internet from pages within our site. We only link to providers of information or services that we believe are of interest to users within the HASPA community. If you have concerns about their privacy policies or have questions about their security, please contact those providers directly. We do not assume responsibility for the practices or content of any web site which links to, or from, our site. We do not accept banner advertising on our site. HASPA does not accept paid advertising. HASPA partners, grantors and event sponsors will be clearly labeled as such, and their acknowledgment may be accompanied by a logo linked back to their web site. Please note that grantors and sponsors do not influence HASPA content. REGARDING THE USE OF OUR SITE BY CHILDREN: We encourage our young visitors to spend their time online supervised by a parent or guardian. Our site is intended for adults. Because our site can be visited without disclosing personal information, we do not know when a child may be viewing our site. Like any web site, we offer e-mail ability into our office and links to other sites.
